I heard part of radio talk show today when I was driving from Fargo back to the Buffalo Bluff. Callers were loudly berating ESPN for 1. not starting the FCS championship game at the kickoff..ESPN continued broadcasting the end of a basketball game 2. the broadcasters were “in favor” of SH university 3. ESPN did not cover the trophy presentation. 4. The play- by- play callers on ESPN were stupid—-
And there were other complaints.

My solution to not liking to listen to ESPN play- by- play: turn down the sound totally and listen to Scott Miller, Steve Walker and Jeremy Jorgenson.
There is a time gap but it is kind of hear what happens on a play and then you see it. I like that feature. There is nobody as good as the Miller-Walker-Jorgenson team of broadcasters…none whatsoever. All the games that have been on TV this year (Bison games) we turn down the TV sound and listen to KFGO radio..much preferable even to the local play- by- play on KTHI channel 11.

One said ‘MY, OH, MY!” ——–and all Bison fans know who says that!!!!

The other was a clever pun:

Clever fans for sure!

I am a retired elementary "schoolmarm"..I was a school librarian/media director for nearly 25 years before I retired in 2004. Naturally one of my fondest things is reading! I also love reading aloud to young children, something I did for so many years with amazing results; every child wants to read the same book as the teacher read!!!! I also am fond of my gardens...both flower beds and vegetable plots. I love being outdoors....mowing the lawn after my husband has done so with a big lawn tractor...I trim with my small power mower! I have a rain barrel to collect rainwater for plants! I have an old fashioned "pedal" bike I love to ride. I enjoy going to a Silver Sneakers class at a community center about 20 miles from my country home on what I call the "Buffalo Bluff" which overlooks the Buffalo River and its valley below. I LOVE to write and am working on a book for my grandkids so they will always know more about Grandma when she was still "kickin" and "had all her marbles"!!!!

  1. I too found it irritating that the basketball preempted the start of the Bison game. But then again aside from the Fargo-Moorhead region there was little interest in the game.
