S.G.W.S.F. another version of S.O.G.W.P.I.P.

You are tantalized by my strange letters? Yes..you are…. so you should not be kept in suspense.
The second one is one my Mother had on a photo album after our first son was born (he was the FIRST GRANDCHILD) SOGWPIP means
“Silly Old Gramma With Pictures In Purse”. Mom had a little album of our baby’s first pictures. ( that baby is now 50 years old as of July 8) She showed it to everyone who would stop and look at at.

The first set of mysterious letters: SGWSF: “Soccer Gramma With Sad Face”
I have been at soccer games all fall watching my 15 year old freshman grandson play on the varsity soccer boys’ squad at Shanley High School. The team has had a wonderful season..unbeaten until this past Saturday when Century High School of Bismarck boys’ soccer game won the state class A boys soccer title over Shanley.
Oh— have I learned a lot about soccer this fall and last spring (watching my 18 year old granddaughter play for Shanley Girls’ soccer also…they WON the state class A title in late May. It was such fun!!!!
The boys’ team had a great season and should not be too glum…but unfortunately this S.G. is feeling glum because I wanted them to win the state title so much. On Friday when they defeated Fargo South in a shootout (after 80 minutes of regular game plus two overtimes…then went to a shootout which Shanley won 3-1…I had such a churning stomach that I brought one of my blankets up to my face to catch anything that might come up from the depths of my digestive system—-I was THAT uptight(and upset)by the end of the defensive struggle against the Bruins.
When I told my grandson about that he ” said “Oh Gramma….that is terrible!”
Yes, it is terrible to care so much about one boy’s so much team that I was ready to upchuck. I feel for the other parents and grandparents because they wanted ot see their boys win as much as I did. They did have a nice celebration on Saturday after the title game at one of the senior player’s homes …his parents graciously hosted the rest of the team and their families so it was not all sadness. I feel for the senior boys though…last game and end of soccer career and all that sobby stuff. I saw grown boys cry on Friday when Fargo South lost that shootout. It is a very emotional experience in all sports I fear.
Then to add to my previous upset stomach…. I listened to the end of the Bison game and felt sadder yet when the Bison lost their game on Saturday.

HOW MUCH CAN A SPORTS-NUT GRAMMA TAKE????

I am in recovery mode thankfully. The soccer player was happy and smiling when I saw him this morning at church…good kid with good attitude.
And he is all mine!!!!!
