I have read an article twice…once on the AP and once in the FORUM that said “This Is What Global Warming Looks Like”. It referred to the current heat wave in the EAST and Midwest and other places. Also referred to the storms in New England that put the electrical power down. Uh Huh..this is what global warming looks like.
As always the Global Warming Alarmists grasp at the straws of WEATHER that is occurring at the moment. When we hit minus 30 below in the winter I suppose that that would be “What Global Cooling Looks Like”.
I did a little research about warm periods on earth and cold periods on our same planet. These cycles occur with regularity as far back as history has recorded it.
The Medieval Warm Period lasted from
AD 950 to 1250. It was so warm then that Greenland was poplulated by Vikings who were able to farm and raise livestock on the island that has been covered with snow and ice since the Little Ice Age which came right after the Medieval Warming Period. (there was good reason why they called it Green Land ) It was just as warm as any other global warming period….MWP….without any man made carbon emissions other than burning wood for fuel and for cooking fires and cooking stoves.
Of course the Alarmists say that NOW it is much worse because Man has tipped the balance with carbon emissions that are surely going to kill us all..if not from the heat and the storms and the disasters that it will surely bring, but we will choke on CO2..or some horrible death-bringer. Being inundated by the sea from glaciers melting)
We could also be inundated by glaciers again as happened in the Ice Age and the Little Ice Age when global cooling rolls around again.
The Earth has been slowly warming since the Little Ice Age (1275-1300) and we will continue to warm until the cycle changes and the cooling begins once again…influenced by sunspot activity that runs in 11 – year cycles approximately. The sun has just recently become active again after about a dozen years of being quiet.
We could see changes on Earth due to the sun’s new sunspots and the solar storms that come with them.
Warming and Cooling occur constantly in long, almost undecipherable cycles apparent only to NASA, and other global weather and climate watchers..true climate scientists— and not alarmists shouting “the sky is falling”.
I am not going to panic about a few hot days in early July. In 1936 there were more hot days and worse summer heat and lack of rain than there is now. It was horrible. And nobody died from that period of warm weather unless they went out in the hot sun and had a heatstroke or a heart attack if they had the proclivity for one. Incidentally the winter of 1936 had been one of the coldest on record and the snowfall and storms were heavier than usual.

You cite a poll (Rasmussen) and publicly editable document? The science is clear. Anthropogenic Global Warming is real. The only conspiracy is by people unable and unwilling to believe the science. AGW is happening right now, and denial won’t fix the problem. Go ahead and leave it to your grandkids. It’s what the Boomers do best.

To John Boehner: You are VERY GOOD at jumping to conclusions. I do not deny global warming at all..I pointed out the facts about the regularity of
the long cycles of warming and cooling of the earth’s climate! We are in a warming cycle and HAVE BEEN since the end of the Little Ice Age.
Is that denial?????NO, NO, NO!…you read something into my words that are not there!
What I do question is the so called evidence put out by the “scientists” at the East Anglia university ( and other) which proved to be (admitted to) “doctored” by the PHD doctors. I am very interested in genuine research by genuine climate scientists but I think a lot of them are greatly exaggerated those who have
already decided what is “science” when the falsify data to prove what they want to prove. That IS NOT DENIAL John and you know it.
