In today’s news (April 9 2012) there is a piece by John Fund in “National Review” on the realclearpolitics site, which reveals a surprising case of voter fraud in last week’s primary election in Washington, DC. An assistant to James O’Keefe (who has used the technique of underground ways of getting information that the late Mike Wallace of
CBS perfected years ago when he got information about fraud in Medicare).
An O’Keefe assistant was sent to the Nebraska Street voting place in the area of Washington D.C. where Eric Holder…. our current AG… is registered to vote. Holder has been registered for 29 years. Here is the exchange at the Nebraska Street polling place last week:
Man(asst) “Do you have an Eric Holder, 50th street?”
Poll worker: “Let me see here”
Man: “xxxx 50th street” (numbers not printed for obvious reasons)
Poll worker: ” Let’s see…Holder, Hol-t-e-r or Hold-er?”
Man: H-O-L-D-E-R
Poll worker: “D-e-r. Okay”
Man: “That’s the name.”
Poll worker: “I do. Xxxx 50th Street northwest. Okay. {puts check next to name indicating someone has shown up to vote}
Will you sign here?”
Man: “I actually forgot my ID.”
Poll worker: “You don’t need it; its all right.”
Man: “I Left it in my car.”
Poll worker: “As long as you’re here and you’re on our list and that’s who you say you are, we’re okay.”
Man: “I would feel more comfortable if I go get my ID, is it all right if I go get it?”
Poll worker: “Okay”
Man: “I’ll be back faster than you can say furious”
Poll worker: We’re not going anywhere.
(the assistant did not return to use Holder’s ballot)
Note that the assistant to O’Keefe never identified himself as Eric Holder so he was not illegally impersonating him. Nor did he accept the ballot that was offered him. {it is also fascinatihng that the Poll Worker did now know who Eric Holder was!}
O’Keefe has been accused by Liberals of committing voter fraud in his effort to expose just how slip – shod the elections of various no-ID states are. O’ Keefe has only videotaped his encounters with election officials in jurisdictions that allow videotaping someone in public with only one party’s knowledge.
The D.C. Board of Elections is notoriously loose in its practices involving voters at polling places. A community activist uncovered the fact that Andrea Pringle, the new deputy chief of staff to Mayor Vincent Gray (of D.C.) had voted illegally in the District even though she admitted to living in Maryland. She resigned in the face of the criticism.
State Senator Harold Metts of Rhode Island got a photo-ID law put on the books in his state last year after he was told by several constituents of voter fraud in his hometown of Providence, Rhode Island. His own state representative and her daughter had their votes stolen by someone voting in their names in one election. Senator Metts, the only African -American member of the R.I. senate, says that he took a lot of heat from Democrats for getting the ID law approved by an overwhelmingly Democratic legislature.
But groups opposing Voter ID laws do not let facts get in their way..facts about obvious voter fraud like the case of O’Keefe’s assistant getting Eric Holder’s ballot in Washington D.C.
James Clyburn, D. representative of South Carolina, uses the tired excuses for opposing voter ID laws. Clyburn compares voter ID laws to “Jim Crow” provisions that blocked people from voting in the last century and said he is “very very anxious” that the Supreme Court “as it is presently connstituted” will support the laws. But the Supreme Court has already approved voter ID with its opinion authored by its most liberal member at the time.
Larry Sabato, the director of the Center for Politics says “From voter fraud to election chicanery of all kinds, America teeters on the edge of scandal each November.” The fact that so many people want to thwart legitimate and prudent efforts to improve ballot integrity has become a scandal in its own right.
After what happened at his own polling place in D.C.last week, AG Holder ought to agree that voter fraud is a scandal worth investigating.

One commenter to my blog who calls him/herself “Dr Love” used the same lame and tired reasons for not having voter ID. Read the comment on the blog titled “The strange absence of ID for Voters.”
Voting is a privilege, one that should not be abused. Your ID should be checked..and you should sign on the dotted line:)
Farside…you are SO right!!!! Voting is a privilege for every American CITIZEN….that does not include illegal aliens who the Libs would like to sneak in
with no photo or other kind of citizen ID. It is so logical I wonder how the libs can be so dull….but thbey have their agenda: and that is that they cannot always win on their issues or their records…so they must recruit illegal voters to get things done or people elected. They did it in MN in the senatorial election of 2010…why do some people not “get it”????????
