So why didn’t the great Obama do all those wonderful things during his first two years when he controlled (bad choice of words) both the house and the Senate? Who exactly stopped him?

Brad, you have to get off the kool-aide. Although I agree that Mr. Obama seems to be a loving, family man, he is dead set on destroying this country, as we know it. He is one of the few, today, who is directly descended from African [not African American, as his father was never an American, but African African], and I think that he could do far more good to work towards bettering the country of his father. Those people suffer far more than any “legal” resident of the USA does. Early on, he decided that he alligned far more with his father’s people than with his mothers, and one only needs to open their eyes to see how much many people from Africa suffer. I could easily make a list of items that he could start with ………

Maybe one of you brainwashed Fox News consumers can explain what other option Obama has than to “go around” congress when he is faced with a Republican controlled House that has a vested interest in sabotaging the economy for political purposes. They oppose absolutely everything he tries, including Republican ideas such as tax cuts (which by the way I am against).

The bottom line is that I’m not convinced that Obama has the best ideas to fix the economy, but I KNOW FOR SURE Republicans don’t. All they want to do is run the clock out and make sure the economy stays bad or gets worse until Nov 2012.

Oh, and by the way, with regard to approval ratings, as low as Obama’s rating might be, it is still 4-5 times better than congress which is sitting at 9%. I do have to wonder who those idiots in the 9% are though.

I don’t consider “marxist socialist” to be name calling at all. I see where the Obama policies are leading
and they have the hallmarks of that sort of government. The takeover by government of so many formerly free
elements in our Republic is shocking to me. I totally disagree that government intervention
is the way to solve the present serious problems with our economy which is the most pressing issue currently.

I’m wondering if you could actually be specific about these alleged “Marxist/Socialist” policies. Do you mean healthcare? I seem to recall a Republican President who pushed through a prescription drug plan for Medicare participants. Do you mean jobs programs? I remember a Republican president who privatized unprecedented portions of our nation’s security in order to avoid instituting a draft to come up with warm bodies to carry out a war using a no-limit, no-collateral credit card–and, because such privatization was not open to bidding, essentially played reverse Robin Hood with national resources.

So, granted that your first commenter spoke rather crudely, your use of “Marxist/Socialist” amounts to the same kind of baseless name-calling.
