HOW PERVERSE CAN YOU GET?

On today’s news (Business and Media Institute)  there is a short piece about Michael Moore and Keith Olbermann of MSNBC (or MSLSD as Mark Levin refers to that channel!!)

Moore, when being interviewed by Olbermann made the comment that the coming Hurricane Gustav—- now packing possible Category 5 winds by the time it makes landfall on the same Gulf coast area as "Katrina" in 2005—is "proof that there is a God in Heaven" because this huge storm will interrupt the Republican convention in St Paul, MN.

Moore’s exact comment:  "I was just thinking, this Gustav is proof that there is a God in heaven, Moore said, laughing.  To have it planned at the same time—that it would actually be on its way to New Orleans for day one of the Republican Convention up in the Twin Cities—at the top of the Mississippi River."   ( at least Moore knows his American geography a little better than his candidate, Barack Obama, who has been "to all 57 states")

I knew before that Michael Moore was a perverted personality— but this really goes beyond the pale….to make such a remark about a killer storm approaching the same area of the Gulf Coast as the worst hurricane thus far, in 2005, shows not only his perverseness, but his incredible stupidity.   He did not acknowledge that plain fact that Hurricane Katrina is still wreaking havoc on the New Orleans area in that it did $43,625 billion dollars in damage. It has also caused American taxpayers billions of dollars and Michael Moore jokes about the new hurricane threatening the same area….laughs about what he considers his cute remark about "proof of a God in heaven."     If I were Michael Moore, (and I thank God that I am not,) I would be totally unprepared to meet the God he doubts exists— a God who he thinks exists  only if He is wreaking havoc on innocent people.   Moore’s perversity is unbounded and unmatched.

Olbermann tends to fall into the same far-left spectrum as Moore,so he, no doubt, enjoyed the little joke about Hurricane Gustav proving his own perversity.  What a waste of air time— and  physical space in the studio where the interview took place!!!

I can’t agree with you more. I hate being a “yes” person, but, laughing at the potential for numerous deaths and mayhem earns this guy more than a leafy spurge. It earns him the big boots that someone else mentioned on my blog. :) You keep posting about the upcoming election, I like to read your point of view. Certainly better than some of the numbskull men who make stupid comments.

thanks Prairie Womaan for your confidence in my views…they are definitely conservative but I am still a true “Independent”. I belong to no politcal party, support no political party, and make my judgements for voting on the character and policies of the candidates. I AM very Pro-Life…that is one principle I cannot compromise.

Two wrongs don’t make a right, but it reminds me of the comment recently by the preacher asking supporters to pray for rain during the Democratic National Convention. Didn’t happen, though.

Katrina actually missed New Orleans, by the time it hit is was only a cat 2-3. The reason why New Orleans flooded was because they are below sea level, and their pumper guy in charge of the level left his station (a station that he could have stayed at with enough food and water for 30 days) It had little to do with the actual hurricane. Michael Moore has interesting views but once in a while he makes a really good point.

Michael Moore tends to get out on the fringe with some of his commentary, but what makes his quote worthy of your ire? I found Pat Robertson’s implying that Katrina was akin to the wrath of God punishing man for abortion, homosexuality, etc etc. And the difference between the two? Robertson, Fallwell and their ilk seriously believe that and mean what they say. Moore can at best be faulted for making a poor joke.

    Oops…posted without proofreading.

I found Robertson’s statements about Katrina much more offensive and in poor taste that Moore’s, if not outwardly hostile and holier-than-thou.

koe: I did not like the silly Robertson comment either at the time. I did not like Bobby Kennedy Jr’s comment that all the hurricanes were George Bush’s fault for not signing the Kyoto treaty. And Michael Moore’s comment offended me because of his glib non-concern for the damage a huge storm can do and for his non concern for the people that are displaced by it. All these comments I rank as stupid and perverse.
